About Lisa Mila Scala

Lisa launched her consulting practice after she completed her service in a hotly contested political race for the Governor’s office in Massachusetts. From 1999 through the fall of 2002, Ms. Scala served as the Finance Director to then-Senate President Thomas F. Birmingham in his senatorial and gubernatorial campaigns. Under Lisa’s leadership, President Birmingham consistently out-raised all of his opponents. Prior to her work with the Senate President, Lisa worked with the well-connected political consulting firm Dewey Square Group where she tracked legislative issues for clients and raised money for elected officials on the firm’s behalf. She arrived at the Dewey Square Group after embarking on her political career in Massachusetts as the Finance Director for the Committee to Elect Jack Corrigan in the Norfolk County District Attorney’s race.

Early in her career Lisa worked for Advantage Schools, Inc., a venture backed charter school management company in its start-up phase. Her efforts helped to successfully enroll the company’s first two model schools, execute day-to-day operations at both remote school sites, and negotiate national contracts for the company’s second-round schools as a member of their real estate team.

Lisa began her political career during her education at Northeastern University and Boston University by serving United States Senator John F. Kerry. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science at Boston University.
